Edinburgh Field Trip - Arthurs Seat

Scotland - Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a compact and vibrant city which offers a lot to interest Geography students. Offering the chance to study map skills, human and physical geography, the city is a safe place for students to enjoy the outdoors as well as a taste of city life in Scotland's exciting capital.

Field work investigations and activities can include conservation work, and learning about land use and forestry management, exploring Scotland's violent volcanic past on Arthur's Seat and at the interactive Dynamic Earth Museum, studying urban regeneration and renewal, tourism, land use, settlement site and situation, and many of these activities can be combined with practical experience of developing students' map skills.

Students are accommodated in 2's or 3's with host families - and teachers get to enjoy the hospitality of their own host families without the need to police the corridors of a residential centre at night, freeing you up to catch up on some well-earned sleep ready for another day of geography-filled activities.

A full programme of fun-filled relaxation activities can also be organised including chance to explore the city in an interactive game, ceilidh (Scottish dancing), Edinburgh Castle, Shopping, quiz nights or use of the games room in our base.
